Witten, Eugene T. “Gene” 87 of Louisville, passed away
Thursday November 10, 2011 at The V.A. Medical Center.
Born in Grayson County Kentucky he was a retired Manufacture Rep for
Deaton-Kennedy Company where he worked for over 35 years. He was
With the Medical Corp in the Army during World War 2, a member of St.
Paul United Methodist Church, former member of Buechel Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite,and the Order of Eastern Star #339 Buechel. He was a Duke of Paducah and a Kentucky Colonel.
Preceded in death by his brothers
Raymond Hershel and Frank Witten, Sisters Rowena Gatheridge and Bea Basham.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary McAfee Witten, Children Marigene Witten, Vernon T. Witten, and Lou Ann Hippensteel (Curt). Brother Marshall Witten and sister Laura Amos. Eight Grandchildren, Alice, John, Katie, Ian, Ray, Lela, Kathleen, and Mary.
Funeral Service will be 11 am Saturday November 12, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Memorial Fund and The Methodist Children’s Home.
