Obituary

Rita G. (Bourgeois) Fournier, 88, of Manchester died November 10, 2011 at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord after a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on March 24, 1923 to Louis and Rose (Provencher) Bourgeois. She lived in Hooksett and Manchester for many years.
Mrs. Fournier worked at several Manchester area shoe manufacturers for many years. She was a member of the shoe workers union and AARP.
She was a communicant of St. Catherine Church.
She was a gifted seamstress who made many tree skirts and Christmas stockings for her family. She also enjoyed cooking and time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Paul H. Fournier in 2006.
The family includes two children, Norman P. Fournier and his wife, Carol, of Manchester, and Phyllis Valavane and her husband, John, of Candia; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Gilberte Bourgeois of Bedford and Dee Stone and her husband, Harold, of Manchester; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by six siblings, Euclide Bourgeois, Rose Cameron, Lucille Blanchette, Denis Bourgeois, Roger Bourgeois and Emma Courteau.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 14, 2011 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
