Robert E. Thompson of Lehigh Acres. Florida formerly of Canton passed way on November. 9th at the Lehigh Regional Medical Center. He was 81. Born and raised in Newton, Robert attended Newton Public Schools and graduated from Newton High School. He served 23 years with the Army National Guard of Massachusetts. Robert moved to Canton in 1981 and lived there for 16 years before moving to Lehigh Acres, FL in 1997. He was the owner and operator of the Retco Machine Shop in Canton. He was a member of Elks of FL. Beloved husband of Rhoda (Whitaker) & the late Bonnie (Arsenault). Loving father of Gail A. Anselmetti & her husband Lou of Westford, Marie E. Mungillo & her husband John of Billerica, Susan E. Brayton & her husband Billy of Somerset, Deborah J. Fiorelli & her husband Kenneth of Wrentham, & Karen L. Fleming of Norwood. Brother of Joan Woodard of Walpole and the late Diane Wood. Also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
