James L. "Buck" Atkinson, 75, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.
He was born in White Plains, KY to Charles Edgar & Cynthia Cordie (Geary) Atkinson.
Buck was a retired pipefitter at Ford Motor Co., with 27 years service.
He was member of Ridgewood Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the F.O.P.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, a Son: Aaron C. Atkinson, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Hazel R. (Bond) Atkinson; his children: Michael "Mickey" Atkinson, Heather Faye Atkinson, Rita Faye Thompson (Virgil), and Anita Jo Atkinson; 3 Grandchildren: Melody & Cody Thompson and Jayden Atkinson; 2 Sisters: Nancy Miller (Charles) and Milbra Long.
Buck was a loving Husband and a Great Dad and Papaw...
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 2 - 9 PM and Friday 10 AM - 2 PM.
