Robert E. Stanton Jr. 56, of Bellingham and formerly of Wellesley, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday, November 5, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Channell) Stanton.
After graduating from Wellesley High School in 1973, he attended Norwich University on a football scholarship. As a mechanical engineer,he worked for MIT Lincoln Laboratories, Harvard University, Gilbane and the Columbia Companies, he was very technologically savvy and could fix almost anything.
Rob or Robbie as his close friends and family knew him was an avid golfer, pilot, sailor and drummer. He loved going to concerts with his family and spending his weekends in Rhode Island by the water.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Ashley Stanton Tonevski and her husband Jovan of Bellingham, his father Robert E. Stanton, Sr. of Miami, Fl and two brothers Terrance and Sean Stanton, His father and mother in law Gordon S. Channell and Rita (De Angelis) Channell of Dennis Port, formerly of Natick.
He was also the father of the late Hillary Blair Stanton Foulkes who died in December of 2007, and son of the late Patricia (O'Brien) Stanton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, November 11th, at 11:00 A.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common,
Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
