Born Barbara Goldstein in Chelsea, MA and raised in Everett, MA, she graduated from Everett High School in 1948. In 1952, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Jason Katz with whom she had 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to her loving husband Jason, Barbara leaves her daughter Ellen Beaudin of Old Orchard Beach, ME; a son Barry Katz and his wife Dorothy of Somersworth, a son Kenneth Katz of Longmeadow, MA and a son Scott Katz of Flagstaff, AZ. Barbara is mourned by her grandchildren, Adam Katz and his wife, Emily Schwartz-Katz of Winthrop, MA and their son Owen; Corey Katz of Chestnut Hill, MA; Benjamin Katz of Washington, DC, Johnice Katz of New Orleans, LA; Gregory Beaudin-Katz of Saco, ME; Jacob Katz of Portsmouth, NH; Ryan and Dylan Katz of Worcester, MA; Molly and Jasmine Katz of Somersworth, NH; Nathaniel and Eli Katz of Flagstaff, AZ; She is also mourned by nieces, cousins, foster-grandchildren and numerous friends and admirers.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Thursday, November 10 at 11 AM. Interment in Everett.
