
WELLFLEET – Lawrence F. Peters of Wellfleet died at his home on Thursday, November 3rd. He was 79.
Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Mary D. Peters. He was a realtor at Cape Shores Realty in Wellfleet. Although he worked for 40 years as a Trust Accountant for Chase Bank in Manhattan, he always considered himself a resident of the Outer Cape, and spent virtually every weekend here during those forty years.
A member of the Wellfleet Historical Society, Mr. Peters was instrumental in the concept and development of Preservation Hall in Wellfleet. He also was active in both the Strawberry Festival and Oyster Festival in Wellfleet.
Brother Gerald Peters of Green Harbor and Sister Anne Peters of Truro, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews survive him. He was predeceased by Sam Leacock, his life partner of 40 years.
