Obituary

Donald E. Thompson, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Mary L. (Rump) Thompson, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Friday, November 4, 2011. He was 92 years years old.
Donald was a graduate of Tri State University, now know as Trine University in Indiana.
Born in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, on June 13, 1919, Mr. Thompson was the beloved son of the late Gerald and Martha (Dwyer) Thompson. Donald was a Registered Professional Electronic Engineer and had worked for Raytheon on Government projects for many years. In his spare time, Mr. Thompson loved photography and always enjoyed developing his photographs in his home darkroom. He was also a longtime member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Medford and had served on the church vestry, as an usher and was a Sunday School Teacher. Above all, Mr. Thompson was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He will be very sorely missed by his loving daughters; Jeanne M. Dempster of Tewksbury and Carol A. Thompson of Medford, granddaughters; Julie L. and her husband Charley Carrozo and Jennifer B. and her husband Philip Stevens, great-grandsons; Thomas and Jack and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also the devoted the devoted brother of the late Frank Thompson.
His funeral was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, Monday, November 7, 2011, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends are respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Sunday, November 6, 2011, from 2 to 6 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
