Obituary

Daniel A. Allen, passed away on Sunday, March 7, the husband of the late Mildred A. (Faia). He was seventy-four years old.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Nellie (Looney) and Ivory L. Allen. He attended Malden Public Schools and lived in Malden for many years before taking up residence in Woburn in 1992.

Before his retirement Daniel worked for many years as the plant manager for Malden Mills. He was a decorated US Army Veteran of the Korean War. In his retirement he was always helping people, he was the driver for the local Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed being a handy man for his friends an neighbors. He was devoted to his family, he enjoyed music, bowling but most of all helping people.

He was preceeded in death by his late wife, his sister Ruth Barry, and three brothers John, Ivory and Robert Allen.

Surviving are his daughter Nancy and her husband Richard of Woburn, his two grandchildren, His sister Helen “Nellie” Enos and her husband Robert of Billerica, His brothers Howard and his wife Carol of NH., Harold of Malden and Edmund of Colorado. His beloved companion Maureen Werner of Billerica, also many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held form the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Wednesday, March 10, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

Visiting Hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, from 4 thru 8.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent in Daniel´s memory to the Minuteman Senior Services, “Meals On Wheels” 24 Third Ave., Burlington,, MA 01803.
