Odessa Ring, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 4 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jack Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ring was born October 28, 1922 in Alma, Georgia to the late William P. and Laura Williams Nettles. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life and was a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills, SWS Sportswear and The Monarch Company. Mrs. Ring was a member of New Testament Holiness Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Purvis, Evelyn Mobley and Wendy Weathers, all of Fitzgerald; sons, Marvin H. Ring, Jr., Rex Ring and Clifton Ring, all of Fitzgerald; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Ring, son, David Ring; daughter, Ethel Seiley, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
