Mary "Phyllis" (Harper) White, age 91
Longtime Tewksbury Resident

TEWKSBURY: Mary "Phyllis" (Harper) White, age 91, a resident of Tewksbury for 60 years, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at home, following a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Alexander J. White, who passed away on November 11, 1996.
Born in Medford on May 23, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Herbert F. and Josephine G. (Doiron) Harper.
Phyllis was raised in West Medford, attended Medford schools and graduated from Medford High School in 1938.
She resided in West Medford and Somerville until moving to Tewksbury in 1951.
Phyllis worked for many years as a floral designer with the former Garland's Flowers of Tewksbury. In addition, she was employed as a secretary by the Trendsetter Company, a division of the Wolverine Shoe Corporation of Wilmington, the Sentry Insurance Company in Lowell, and as executive secretary in the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affair Office of U.S.C.I., a division of the C.R. Bard Company.
Phyllis attended the Tewksbury Congregational Church, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid & Friendly Guild.
She was a charter member of the Tewksbury Historical Society, a member of the Tewksbury Red Hat Society, and was a charter member and past treasurer of the Heath Brook School P.T.A. In addition, she previously served as a committee member and advisor for the Tewksbury Little League Baseball Program, the Wamesit Lodge Rainbow for Girls, and was a member of Tewksbury's Sidewalk Planning Committee.
Phyllis is survived by one son, James A. White of Westford; two daughters, Sandra J. Mouser and her husband Kenneth of Tewksbury and Cynthia S. White-Webb and her husband David of Tustin, CA; nine grandchildren, Andrew Mouser, Kristina Oliveira, Lauren Hansen, Alan, David, and Meghan White, Allison Anderson, Ian and Craig Stalker; sixteen great grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlen and McKenzie Mouser, James and Evan Hansen, Gareck, Emily, Cameron and Adam White, Nicole and Alexander Oliveira, Aidan, Aila and Abel Anderson, and Landon and Natalie Stalker.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 11 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Interment will held at a later date at the Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. At Phyllis's request there are No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring her memory may be made to the Tewksbury Historical Society, P.O. Box 522, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
