Obituary


LEICESTER: Lena E. (Aldrich) Larson 91, of Leicester, died Thursday, Oct. 27 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
She was the daughter of Charles Wesley and Eva (Lamoureux) Aldrich. Born in Putnam, Ct., she never finished school so she could help her mother take care of her younger brothers and sisters. She made the entire Thanksgiving Day dinner when she was only 13 years of age. She once worked at the Putnam Woolen Mill. She later worked on the family farm with her husband, the late Arvid F. Larson who died in 1979.
Lena, enjoyed many years of baking and cooking. She was famous for her apple pie and date nut bread. She enjoyed camping in Maine, dining out and scenic rides on Sundays. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Lena is survived by her two sons, Carl A. and Robert A. Larson who gave her great care while she was ill. Her brother William Aldrich of Torrington, Ct., and her sister Irene St.Jean of Palmer, Ma., several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 11a.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will precede the service on Thursday from 10 to 11a.m.
