Helen M. Malfy, 79 of Medford MA, died Thursday after a lengthy illness in the Winchester Nursing Center. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and the late Ellen (Morris) Lurvey. Mrs. Malfy was a Medford resident for the past ten years formerly of Dorchester. She worked for many years as a cafeteria manager for the Boston School Dept. She is survived by her husband Frederick Malfy, three sons Fred Malfy and his wife Kathy of Walpole, Larry Malfy and his wife Patty of Weymouth and James Malfy of Kentucky. Two daughters, Mary Gillis and her husband Thom, Ellen Laroche and her husband John all of Medford. cherished grandmother of Regina Gillis and also survived by seven more loving grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 AM in St. James Church, 779 Fellsway, Medford. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
