Boston – Adeline Mary Almeida, age 88 years, died October 29, 2011 at Beth Israel / Deaconess Hospital. She was the mother of Izhor Logan Jr. and Theodore Logan both of Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Almeida is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Almeida was the daughter of the late Theodore F. and Mary (Gonsalves) Almeida. She was born in New Bedford, lived in the Brooklyn, NY area for over 50 years, returning recently to the New Bedford area. Ms. Almeida had earned her Masters Degree in Psychology from the New York Institute of Technology and worked for many years at the Brooklyn Developmental Center in Brooklyn, NY. She was a former member on the Board of Directors of the Our Lady of the Assumption Club and the Women’s Social Club and a former member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Retirees. Adeline was also an accomplished artist.
Ms. Almeida’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Friday at 8:00 A.M. with a funeral mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
