LEXINGTON—Mary S. “Mae” (Frawley) McGuire, 94 years old, died Saturday afternoon, March 6th, in Arlington. She was the wife of the late John T. McGuire, who died in 1985.
She was born in Kimaley, Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. Mae moved to Lowell at the age of 15, and until 1999, she lived at her residence on Pleasant Street, in the Immaculate Conception Parish. She graduated form Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Lowell High School and Lowell Commercial College.
Mrs. McGuire had been employed as a bookkeeper and at the Raytheon Corporation, at the South Lowell and Shawsheen plants.
Surviving her are a her three children: Theresa, and her husband James Lambert, of Lexington; Jack, and his wife Carol McGuire, of San Antonio, TX; and Kevin McGuire, of Lexington; five grandchildren: Gavin Lambert,, and his wife Rebecca, of Chelmsford; Suzanne McGuire, and her husband Travis Wilson, of Mozambique; John McGuire, of San Antonio, TX; Mark McGuire and Michael McGuire, both of Lexington; one great grandson: John T. Lambert, of Chelmsford.
Friends may call on Monday, March 8th, from 4 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday morning, March 9th, at 10:30 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory may be made to the Monastery of Saint Clare; 445 River Road; Andover, MA 01810.
