Obituary

Joseph G. rainville, 100, of Stillwater Road, died Sunday at Fatima Hospital.
Born in Smithfield, a son of the late Peter and Marie Anne (Desrosiers) Rainville, he had lived in Smithfield his whole life.
He was the owner of Rainville TV Service, a member of the Republican Town Committee and had served on the Smithfield Town Council from 1952-1954. He had played the saxophone in the Ed Drew Band.

He is survived by his brother Gerard Rainville and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George and Arthur Rainville, Mary and Bernadette Smith, Rita Evans, Yvonne Lachapelle and Claudia Morvan.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4 – 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church.
