Neoma M. (Nelson) Long, 95 of New Bedford died October 29, 2011 at Sippican Healthcare Center.
She was the wife of the late Robert D. Long.
Born in Kensal, ND, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Frances (Elliot) Nelson, she moved to New Bedford from Tacoma, WA 18 years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Lavanchy and her husband Jean of Dartmouth; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Janice Longston and the grandmother of the late Robert Lavanchy.
Visiting hours Wednesday, November 2nd from 10 - 11 AM followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 884 Kempton St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
