Mrs. Jennie Federico, age 97 of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, died Saturday Surrounded by her loving family peacefully in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is the wife of the late Frank Federico. Mrs. Federico was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Michael and Grazia (Mesuraca) Orlando. She was raised in the North End and attended local schools. In earlier years she worked at the former Schrafft’s Chocolate Company in Charlestown as a fancy candy packer and later for Howard Johnson Candy Company of Wollaston. She was a talented woman and worked expertly with her hands crocheting and making fine blankets for her grandchildren and friends. Nothing gave her more satisfaction than seeing her family together at family gatherings.
She is survived by 2 sons, John Federico of Saugus and his wife Joann and Frank Federico Jr. of CA., three daughters, Rose Rowton of Wakefield and her husband Bob, Grace Federico of Billerica and her companion Albert DiNatale Jean McFadden of NH., and her husband Edward. Beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is the dear sister of Vito Orlando and his wife Marie of East Boston, Salvatore Orlando of East Boston, Theresa Cramer of Billerica and the late Grace Gianetta and Catherine Aiello. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St Joseph Church 118 High Street Medford at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jennie’s name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
