Irene A. Tessier, 88, formerly of Main St., Albion, died Wednesday at The Holiday in Manville. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Tessier.
Born in Albion, she was a daughter of the late Elphege and Alice (Lacombe) Moreau. She remained a lifelong resident of Albion.
In her younger years Mrs. Tessier was employed at the Manville Jenckes Mill and at Berkshire Hathaway. She later worked for Healthtex Corp. for over 20 years before retiring in 1977.
Irene was a longtime communicant of St. Ambrose Parish and was a member of the AARP. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. Along with her late husband Leo, Irene enjoyed her retirement years by embarking on many trips.
Irene will be remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by a son Robert Tessier, and his wife Margaret, of Stevensville, Maryland, a daughter Diane Callahan, and her husband Patrick, of Albion, four grandchildren Tara Bresnahan, Shane Callahan, Anne Tessier, and Debra Blanchard, and a great- granddaughter Olivia Bresnahan.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, School St., Albion. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
