Obituary

Martha T. Ratto, age 88, a longtime resident of Wilmington passed away peacefully October 29th, at her home in Windsor Place of Wilmington. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Ratto, together sharing over sixty years of marriage prior to his passing in April of 2007. Born in East Boston she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Annie (Accolla) Fazio.

Martha was raised and educated in Medford and for many years worked as a bookkeeper in the Special Education Department of the Medford School System prior to her retirement. Martha was a kind and generous lady always willing to help others with a kind word or gesture. She has been a Wilmington resident for over forty years and made many wonderful friendships throughout her life. In her leisure time she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading and staying in contact with her many dear friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always keeping up on their many accomplishments, she just couldn't get enough of them. Family was everything to Martha and she will forever be greatly missed by her family and many dear friends.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Marty DeFrancesco and her husband John of Burlington, Susan Bullen and her husband Robert, and Joan Ratto all of Tewksbury. She was the loving grandmother of Paul DeFrancesco and wife Kristina, Karen Mullins and husband Mark, David DeFrancesco and wife Denee, Laura Graves and husband Brandon, Kristen Krzesinski and husband Ed, Tracy Norton and husband Michael, Robert Bullen and wife Sara. She was the loving great grandmother of Ella and Julia Mullins, Isaiah, Morgan, and Serena Graves, Brianna Krzesinski, Jane Bullen, Kevin and Emma Norton. She is also survived by her sisters, Lucy Hanley of Alton Bay, NH, Sarah Barry of Wilmington, Anna Morin of Indiana and Eleanor Riley of Florida. Martha is predeceased by her Brother, the late Salvatore Fazio, and sisters, the late Joann Modica and Angela Alosso.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Wednesday, November 2nd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Tuesday from 4 thru 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Martha's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02172, or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
