Cam Willis, Jr., beloved husband of Frances Scott Willis, died peacefully on October, 25, 2011, at his residence. He is preceded in death by his father, Cam Willis, Sr., mother, Loney Cisco Willis and son, Robert Higdon.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 6:00 pm at Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend John West officiating. The family will receive friends at 5:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
Cam Willis, Jr. was born in Thacker Mines, WV on August 18, 1929. He is also survived by his son, Scott Higdon, grandchildren, Sarah Frances Higdon, Angela Nicole Higdon and John Paul Higdon, great-grandchildren, Morgan Faith Higdon, Waylon Higdon and many nieces and nephews. Cam was retired from the United States Army as a Master Sergeant, and was also employed by Platt's Funeral home. He loved to travel, and in his lifetime saw 49 of the 50 United States. He was also an avid fan of Atlanta Braves baseball. Cam was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend. His memory and life has left a mark on all those he loved and all those who loved him.
