Obituary

Robert L. Lemay, 74, of St. Barnabe St., Woonsocket, died Tuesday. He was the husband of Claire H. (Duplessis) Lemay. They were married on September 3, 1956.
Born in Blackstone, he was a son of the late Leo and Anita (Robert) Lemay. He resided in Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Lemay was a veteran of the Unites States Air Force.
Mr. Lemay’s career spanned for over 30 years of service at Industrial Machine Corp. in Georgiaville until his retirement.
Locally Bob was most well know as being the proprietor of Lemay’s Skate Sharpening Company, providing his services to several generations of Woonsocket-area hockey players and skaters.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by a son, Joseph Lemay, a daughter Linda Garfield, and her husband Jay, all of Woonsocket. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aurora, Michael, Matthew, Nicole, and Erika Lefebvre, and Amber and Jason Garfield-DeMontigny.
His funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Fairfield St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 pm.
