Frankie Simmons Wood, a resident of Charleston, TN, formerly of Warner Robins and Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 in a local health facility. Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Mabel Merritt and A. L. Simmons. Her great granddaughter, Malorie Rose Shell, four sisters and a brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Wood was a member of the Hopewell Church of God.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in the Rocky Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include: husband of 64 years, Thomas Albert Wood, Charleston, TN; daughter: Sharon (John) Hornick; grandson: Thomas (Becky) Ronald Wood; grandchildren: Jamie (April) Lee Gillenwater, Thomas (Claire) Ryan Wood; Malcolm (Inger) Jared Wood, Julia (Chad) Lynn Shell; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
