Mary Alice Warren, 85, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Shady Acres Convalescent Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Warren was born on October 12, 1926 in Douglas, GA to the late James Benjamin and Lenora Cox Trowell. She had worked as a waitress at Hialeah Lanes in Florida and she was a member of Covenant Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in the Satilla Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: brother: James Benjamin Trowell, Jr., Douglas, GA; sister in law: Jackie Marie Trowell, Douglas, GA; 16 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; several great great nieces and nephews; also special friend: Peggy Clayton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Bethany Hospice, 201 Westside Drive, Douglas, GA 31533.
