Obituary

KILEY Joan Abbott 62, of Needham, Massachusetts died of cancer, October 24th, 2011.

Born June 12, 1949 in Trumbull Connecticut, Joan was the youngest child of Charles and Cecile Abbott. She graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart with a degree in Political Science. She married John Daniel Kiley, known as Jack, in 1977 and they made a home together in Needham, Massachusetts.

Joan was a caring homemaker, potter, an avid reader and imaginative quilter. She loved gardening and floral arranging, and was President of the Needham Garden Club from 2009-2011. Joan was also an avid singer and a member of the Dedham Choral Society for several years, including performances at Trinity Church in Copley Square, Boston.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack, and their daughters, Megan and Julianne, both of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Quinn and her husband Jack, of Falmouth, MA; her nephew, Matthew Quinn, his wife, Jana, and their two daughters, Amelia and Sylvie, of Arlington, MA; her niece Sarah Quinn, currently of New York, NY; and her brother, Martin Abbott, his wife and three children, of Fairfield, CT.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. (Exit 19B off 128) NEEDHAM Saturday at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Needham at 10AM.
Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
