Elizabeth Spinks Troup, 81, of Fitzgerald, GA died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, October 25, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Burkett and the Rev. Harris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Troup was born on September 2, 1930 in Rhine, GA to the late John Paulie and Mary Beck Spinks. Living in the community all of her life, she farmed and for 18 years worked for H.R. Kaminsky and Sons. She and her husband grew produce and loved to share it with friends and family and sold it in the community. Mrs. Troup was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she brought many members to church who did not have transportation to get there.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Dolores Troup of Greensboro, N.C.; children: Larry (Earlene) Troupe, Kathleen (John) Cook, and Shannon (Burt) Bynum, all of Fitzgerald; brothers: C.L. Spinks of Live Oak, FL and Wayne Spinks of Crystal River, FL; sister: Betty Jo Lattman of Crystal River, FL; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Plemon Troup; son, Sammy Troup; brothers, Herman Spinks, M.J. Spinks, Jr., J.W. (Dub) Spinks; sisters, Gladys Louise Spinks, Pauline Graves and Joan Whitted, and a grand daughter.
