TAUNTON – Lorraine (Nunes) Johnson, wife of the late George A. Johnson, died at Taunton Nursing Home on Oct. 19, 2011.
She was 78.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rodrigues) Nunes.
Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a 1951 graduate of Taunton High School.
Mrs. Johnson moved to Attleboro in 1965, and returned to Taunton in 2009.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she was employed by Texas Instruments for a time many years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Survivors include her sister, Dolores Nunes of Taunton, with whom she resided; six nephews, Jack, Steve, Robert G., James, Carson and Brian Nunes; a niece, Mary “Cathy” Wyatt-Conery; a brother-in-law, John Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Carol Campbell, Barbara Howarth and Audrey Cote; and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Cecil, John, James, Donald, Mary and Agnes Nunes, and the late Hilda Wyatt.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 24th at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 12 noon.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m.
