Hudson, MA
Erroll E. “Bud” Fleming, 83, a long time resident of Hudson, formerly of West Medford and Arlington, died on Wednesday, Oct. 19th at the Coleman House in Northboro surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Shannon M. (MacDonald) Fleming who died in 2009.
He was born in Gardner and raised in Orange, son of the late Erroll E. Fleming Sr. and Pearl (Stowell) Fleming. He attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of Orange H.S. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army, 9th Infantry Division until being honorably discharged in 1949. He later served with the U.S. Army reserves for 10 years. He was employed as a comptroller by the Newport Company in Franklin for many years until his retirement in 2008. Bud was very honored and proud of his service as a volunteer at Marlboro Hospital. He was a former member of the Hudson Cemetery Commission and former member of the Hudson Elks.
He is survived by his children, Brian Fleming and his wife Karen of Tolland, CT, Bruce Fleming of Northboro, Nora McGuinness of Providence, RI and Erin Conlon of Hudson. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Patrick and Lauren Peaslee of Hudson; his nephew and two nieces. He was the brother of the late Nancy Gossard of Ohio and Richard Fleming of California.
Bud’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and entire staff of the Coleman House for their professional care and respect they gave Bud during his short time there.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
