Dortha Biggers Wilson, 89, of Wilcox County, died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Pineview Health Care Center in Pineview.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 23, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald with the Rev. David Biggers officiating.
Mrs. Wilson was born June 27, 1922 in Haralson County, Georgia to the late W.A. and Renna Merritt Biggers. She lived in Wilcox County for the past thirty years. She graduated from Rebecca High School in 1938 and then attended Trevecca College in Nashville, TN. She was a former resident of Albany, GA where she retired from Western Union and was a member of Albany Gospel Chapel.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorris E. Biggers of Seville and Jane Biggers Titshaw of Mountain City, TN as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, I.C. Wilson, three sisters, Elsie B. Cook, Katherine B. Smith and Lillian B. Gresham and two brothers, Cereal Elmo “C.E.” Biggers and E. Preston Biggers.
