BEDFORD, NH - Paul M. Zalewski, 49, of Bedford, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Mass. General Hospital, Boston after a 4 month illness.
He leaves his wife of 22 years, Diane B. (Coyle) Zalewski; a daughter, Bridget E. Zalewski; 2 sons, Ryan C. Zalewski and Aaron J. Zalewski, all of Bedford; his mother, Rita (Alim) Zalewski of Webster; 2 brothers, William Zalewski and David Zalewski, both of Dudley; a sister, Karen Oliver of Lower Gwynedd, PA; his mother-in-law, Sally P. (Skrent) Coyle of Webster; nephews and nieces.
He was born and raised in Webster, a son of the late Francis Zalewski. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1980; he played on the varsity golf and tennis teams. He earned Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and in Mathematics from Worcester State College in 1984.
Mr. Zalewski was the senior systems program analyst at Brookstone Company in Merrimack, NH for the past 7 years, retiring because of illness in July. He also was a private consultant in information technology for many years.
He was an active member of the Restoration Church in Barrington, NH. He was a member of its worship team, playing the bass guitar, worked in the kids’ church, and oversaw the security and welcoming committees. He and his wife helped launch other Assembly of God churches in the greater Manchester, NH, area.
Mr. Zalewski was the assistant commander for the Royal Ranger Program of Northern New Hampshire. He coached Little League and both girls’ and boys’ basketball teams. He was devoted to his family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 10:00 AM in the First Assembly of God, 45 Myles Drive, Auburn NH. Calling hours and burial were private.
