Anthony J. Staples, Sr., 41

Dateline: Norton, MA

Anthony J. Staples, Sr., 41, of Norton formerly of Taunton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Karen M. (Ehrlich) Staples, to whom he was wed on October 8, 2005.
Born in Taunton, MA on October 6, 1970, he was a dear son of the late Edward F. and Jean F. (Coelho) Staples.
Tony grew up and was educated in Taunton. For several years he was employed at the Winthrop St. D’Angelo’s Sub Shop in Taunton and most recently was working at DeVito’s Pizzeria at the Taunton Green.
A resident of Norton for the past 12 years, he had formerly made his home in Taunton. Along with his family he had attended St. Mary’s Church in Norton.
Family was the focal point of Tony’s life. He loved sledding with his son and will always be remembered for his generosity in fixing broken bicycles and giving them away to others who weren’t fortunate enough to have their own.
When not spending time with family, his greatest passion was fishing, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his best friend George Salvo.
In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his devoted children; Samantha M. Ehrlich and Anthony J. Staples, Jr. both of Norton. The adoring brother of Michael E. Staples and his wife Dianne, Tammy J. Pittsley and Edward L. Staples all of Taunton, he is also survived by his mother and father in law Stephen and Diane Ehrlich of Norton as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday October 25th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 24th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Tony’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Anthony J. Staples, Jr. Educational Fund, care of, North Easton Savings Bank, 25 West Main St., Norton, MA 02766.
