Gerald H. Evans, 86, Hendersonville, TN died Wednesday October 19, 2011 at NHC Healthcare Center in Hendersonville. He was born September 15, 1925 in Erie, PA son of the late William Evans and Ellen Hawthorne Evans. He was also preceded in death by his wife Roberta "Sharpe" Evans; a daughter, Pamela Rae Evans; three brothers, Ed, Art, and Earl (Dutch)Evans; and sisters, Thelma Brunner and Mildred Froelick.
Mr. Evans was a veteran of the Coast Guard and served during World War II. He was a self-employed
hairdresser.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas Evans (Cindy), Wauseon, OH; Bob Hedderick (Susanne), Union City, PA; and Donald Hedderick, Erie, PA; two daughters, Ellen Steinberg (Jeff), Orlando, FL; and Diane Meek (Nathan), Greensboro, NC; a sister, Ellen Vargo; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Bill Morris offifiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continue until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery.
