Thelma Few Learned, age 91, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Desoto Healthcare Nursing Home in Southaven, MS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Doug Seaton officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Water Valley, MS.
Thelma was born July 7, 1920 in Water Valley, MS to the late John Marion and Eva Hunter Few. She was a retired teacher's assistant and a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and music. She loved her family and grandchildren. Thelma was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church in Oakland, MS.
She is survived by her three sons, Bill McDonald (Beth) of Madison, AL, Bobby Learned (Sandra) of Southaven, MS and Dan Learned (Susan) of Germantown, TN; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl McDonald and her second husband, Bob Learned;her daughter, Eva Learned; her sister, Ernestine Wood and five brothers, Olen Few, Charles Few, Calvin Few, Hunter Few and Mabry Few.
