Obituary

Kenneth Richard Kerr, 46, of Framingham, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, October 16, 2011. He died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep. He was the beloved husband of Linda and father of Josiah, age seven.
Ken was born in New Jersey, attended college in Iowa, and moved to Massachusetts in the 1990’s. He worked for AVD, Inc. of Waltham as a phone technician. With his family, he attended Crossroads Community Church in Framingham, where Ken taught children’s Sunday school and served others wherever he saw a need. Neighbors, family, business clients, and friends knew him as faithful, hard-working, funny, kind, and empathetic. His faith in a God who loves us influenced all he said and did.
He loved fixing all kinds of things, growing unusual crops in his garden, and figuring out a better way to get a job done. Ken invested his heart into his son, teaching Josiah to tighten bolts, do math in his head, catch a fish, discover exciting stories in the Bible – and to never be afraid to take something apart and see how it works. He was a fantastic father and wonderful, attentive, faithful husband. His provision and care was a daily gift to his wife.
Along with his wife and child, Ken is survived by his mother, Barbara; his brother Dave and wife Jill of Holland, PA; his sister Linda Osborne, her husband Paul, and her children Emily and Allison of Westerville, OH; his in-laws Wayne and Carol Wever of Lancaster, PA; and his in-law siblings Roger and Sarah Waterman and their children Carson and Kailee, of Bothell, WA. All of these, as well as his extended family and friends, will deeply miss him.
A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Community Church, 1341 Edgell Road, Framingham, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20. A reception will follow the service. His earthly body will be buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Union, NJ, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday the 22nd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth Kerr Child Fund c/o Natick Federal Savings Bank, 49 Main St. Natick, MA 01760.
