George A. Withers, 93, of Pembroke, passed away on October 18, 2011. Mr. Withers was very proud of his service during World War II in the Army Air Corp, and spent forty years working for Proctor and Gamble. His favorite pastime was spending time camping with his family.
Beloved husband of Mary Withers. Loving father of Cheryl Withers of Pembroke, and George A. Withers, Jr of Fitchburg. George was one of seven children, and is survived by his sisters Helen and Anna. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Elisabeth, and Spencer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 20th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 21st at 10:00 AM. Internment will be at the Center cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
