Richard Allen Edens, Jr., 25, of West Green, GA passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Georgia Medical College in Augusta, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Edens worked for Nicholls Logging as a logger and he attended Burkett Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father: Richard Allen Edens, Sr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Burkett Baptist Church with interment following in the Burkett Church Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife: Nicole Edens, West Green, GA; daughter: Danica Edens, West Green, GA; mother: Cynthia Ann Edens Herbert, Lakeland, FL; stepfather: Dusty Herbert, Lakeland, FL; sister: Nicole Smith, Douglas, GA; grandmother: Pauline Edens, Douglas, GA; stepmother: Cynthia Edens, Douglas, GA; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
