Obituary

WORCESTER-Oliver G. Ferron, Jr., 86, died Sunday, October 16th, two days after his wife of 62 years, Jean E. (Tomanini) Ferron, 84, who died Friday, October 14th. They leave two sons, Steven M. Ferron and his wife Michele of Indianapolis, IN, and Christopher J. Ferron and his wife Jennifer of Charlton; two daughters, Suzanne F. O’Keefe of Worcester and Patricia A. Hines and her husband Stephen of North Kingstown, RI; seven grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Mr. Ferron was born in Worcester, the son of Oliver G. and Wilhelmina (Erickson) Ferron and was a pipefitter with the local Pipefitters Union. Oliver was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and served aboard the USS Terror. He was predeceased a brother, Raymond and two sisters, Beatrice and Dorothy.

Mrs. Ferron was born in Milford, the daughter of Nicholas and Susan (Maffia) Tomanini and graduated from Milford High School. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard, and a sister, Elizabeth.

They were members of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Their funeral and burial in St. John’s Cemetery will be private. Donations in their memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or Rose Monahan Hospice Home, VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
