Obituary

Danvers: Lillian T. (St. Pierre) Quirk Kanellos, age 85 of Danvers, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Kanellos, and she was also the wife of the late Edward ‘Teddy’ Quirk.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (St. Pierre) St. Pierre. A graduate of Marion Court, as a young woman she worked in the office of the Champion Lamp Co. of Lynn. Married to Teddy in 1948 she left Champion to devote her time to raising her family. Following Teddy’s death, she worked for the Salem Parking Commission for several years. Lillian married Arthur in 1984 and shortly after retired from the parking commission.

A devoted wife and mother, she was a loving grandmother who took special pride in her family. Lillian was a very outgoing woman with an easy going sense of humor who loved to laugh. She was a member of the Club Richelieu North of Boston and almost always attended the Salem Richelieu Club meetings. One could say that any excuse to party was just fine with her. Her laughter will be missed by many.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Doherty-Sheldon and her husband Philip Sheldon of Danvers, Taryn M. Belgiorno and her husband Stephen of Danvers, a brother, Roland St. Peirre and his wife Mary of Salem, 5 grandchildren, Jason Doherty and his wife Katy, Rebecca & Robin Doherty, Diana & Leanne Belgiorno, 3 great-grandchildren, Allison, Kaitlyn & Jack Doherty. She also leaves a close family friend Francis ‘Bud’ Moynihan of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as extended family in Canada. She was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Kuell.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, at 8 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9 a.m. Visiting hours: Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
