David Velozo Sr., age 72 of Somerset passed away October 15, 2011. He was the husband of Lorraine (Menezes) Velozo and son of the late John V. and Myra (Mello) Velozo Sr. David was a retired respiratory therapist having worked at Union-Truesdale Hospital. He was a veteran of the MA National Guard and a member of St. John of God Parish.
Mr. Velozo was the father of David Velozo Jr. (wife Vicki), Sandra L. Bassett, Mark Velozo (wife Alice) all of Somerset and Tracey Velozo of Fall River; brother of John V. Velozo Jr., James Velozo and Irene Rezendes of Somerset, Mary Leah Facchiano of Fall River, Myra Ferreira of FL and the late Henry and Larry Velozo and Norma Perreira; grandfather of 7, great grandfather of 2 and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St., Fall River THURSDAY at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
