Albert R. Rogers, age 88, of Fall River passed away Oct. 16, 2011. The beloved husband of Laura (Simbro) Rogers and the son of the late Dennis & Phoebe (Arruda) Rogers. Albert worked for Plymouth Rubber Co. as a foreman and later for A.C. Schwartz Lumber. He was a proud U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church and played youth baseball for St. Michael’s. Albert loved the Boston Red Sox.
Albert was the father of Nancy Ann Dias, Sandra Ann Rogers and Dennis Rogers all of Fall River and Kevin Rogers of Nantucket; grandfather of Laura (Dias) Flannery, Dennis, Michael, Jason, Eric & Justin Rogers; great grandfather of Boston & Addison; brother of the late Helen Tavares & Dorothy Velozo, uncle to several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, THURSDAY at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Church at 10am Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 4-7pm. www.rogersfuneral.com
