Obituary

Miss Alma M. LeVasseur, 75, of Danvers, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness.
Born in Salem on Nov. 19, 1935, she was the daughter of Philippe and Irene (Dupis) LeVasseur. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former St. Joseph’s Academy.
A Danvers resident since 1968, Miss LeVasseur was employed for many years by Merchants Bank and retired from Bank of America.
She is survived by three brothers, Robert LeVasseur and his wife Doris of Salem, Ronald LeVasseur and his wife Jeanne of Ipswich, and Albert LeVasseur and his wife Margaret of Danvers, an aunt, Theresa LeVasseur, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St., Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alma’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01801.
