Surrounded by family, Millie Darnell Johnson passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 14, 2011. A lifelong Clarksvillian, she felt fortunate to stay at home throughout her battle with cancer. During her life in Clarksville, she spent most of her time raising and supporting her family as well as entertaining friends.
Millie was born January 17, 1943 in Clarksville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Johnson and is the daughter of the late Frank and Louise Darnell.
She leaves behind two daughters; Sherry Scott and husband Rick, Nancy Colt and husband BG Jeff Colt. One son; Hughes Johnson and Wife Didi. One brother; Harold Darnell and wife Danni. Seven grandchildren. And a host of people that are hard to distinguish from family!
Millie had one request before she died: no memorial service, but “one heck of a party.” Those that know her understand that request. This request will be fulfilled by her family in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, people who desire can donate to Gateway Hospice, Bethel United Methodist, Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
