LOCKHART John M.D. died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. He was 83.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Cecile; his son, John; his daughter, Maren and her husband, Mark; his nieces and nephews; and his brothers and sisters in law, and their families.
Born in Worcester, MA, John served two tours of duty in the United States Navy, both in World War II and the Korean War.
A graduate of Clark University and Tufts University Medical School, he completed his residency at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, IL. John then joined the Lahey Clinic, practicing in Psychiatry for thirty-three years.
Dr. Lockhart was dedicated to both his patients and family, and somehow made time for both. His kindness, wit, temperament, and humor touched all he met.
