Robert Van Pope, 73, of Camas, WA, formerly of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Southwest Hospital in Vancover, WA. Mr. Pope was born in Coffee County, GA on December 11, 1937. Mr. Pope was retired from Fleetwood Industries; he was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Vancover, WA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Stokesville Baptist Church with entombment following in the Stokesville Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife: Shirley Jean Pope, Camas, WA; son: Robert J. Pope, Pendleton, OR; Richard A. Pope, Riverside, CA; brother: Wayne M. Pope, Marietta, GA; sister: Laura Mell Pope, Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Kelly Seeley, Camas, WA, William Van Pope, Beaverton, OR, Christopher Pope, Eugene, OR; great grandchildren: Kaden Seeley, Camas, WA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
