Obituary

LOWELL—Ruth C. (Cutress) O’Connor, 84 years old, died early Monday morning, March 1st, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. O’Connor, who died in 1978.

She was born in Lowell, a daughter of the late William and Annie (Higgins) Cutress, and was a graduate of St. Patrick Grammar School and Lowell High School.

Mrs. O’Connor had been employed as a timekeeper by Pratt & Whitney, of East Hartford until her retirement in 1985. She had resided in Rockville, CT, Lowell, and Dracut. While a resident in Dracut, she was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law: Thomas J. and Jeanne O’Connor, of Hanover, NH; three grandsons: Thomas J. O’Connor, Charles M. O’Connor, and Alex O’Connor; two sisters: Catherine Kelley, of Nashua, NH; and Margaret Burns, of Dracut; a brother; Francis Cutress, of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Mary Coakley, Claire Ouellette, William Cutress, Jr., George Cutress, and Walter Cutress.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 3rd, from 4 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday morning, March 4th, at 11 AM at ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH, Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
