David L. Kennedy, 39, of Rebecca, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, in Irwin County.
The family will receive friends at 4 P.M. Friday, October 14 at Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald with Rev. Joey Peterson officiating.
David was born October 1, 1972 in Portsmouth, VA to Joseph Lane Kennedy and Deborah Jean Hurt Kennedy Quintero. He moved to Fitzgerald four months ago from Portsmouth, VA. David was a painter and shipyard worker and a former employee of Shapiro Metals. He was an avid NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan and a member of the First Assembly of God.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather: Deborah & Edmund Quintero of Rebecca; father & stepmother: Joseph & Cindy Kennedy of Brandon, FL; sisters: Tracey Lynn Kennedy & fiancé Joey Peterson of Fitzgerald and Kimberly Ann & Curtis Coggins of Rebecca; grandparents: Eugene and Servenure Hurt of Fitzgerald; uncle and aunts: Larry D. Hurt and Anthony K. Hurt of Fitzgerald, Richard W. Kennedy, Lloyd E. Kennedy and Glenn R. Kennedy of Portsmouth, VA; aunt: Carolyn D. Holland of Portsmouth, VA and fiancé Bobby Jo Jones of Fitzgerald as well as three nephews: Caleb Coggins, Bryson Coggins and Preston Coggins. He was preceded in death by grandparents,Joseph L. and Sadie E. Kennedy Sr. of Portsmouth, VA.
