Jean M. (Cudmore) Neary of Manchester, NH formerly of Brockton died Sunday October 9, 2011 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late William T. Neary, Sr.
Jean was born and raised in Boston a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Donahue) Cudmore and was a graduate of Boston Clerical School. She moved to Brockton in 1961 and for the past 2 years had resided in New Hampshire. For thirty years Jean worked in the Dean’s office and Provost’s office at Stonehill College. Previously she had worked at the Brockton VA Hospital and Salada Tea in Boston.
Jean loved shopping in her free time and traveling. She was devoted to her family and was proud of her time at Stonehill. Longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton.
She is survived by her two sons, William T. Neary, Jr. and his wife Rose of Manchester, NH and Daniel J. Neary and his wife Annmarie of Marston Mills, MA. She leaves two grandchildren Colin and Hannah Neary. She was the sister of Arthur Cudmore of Walpole and the late John, Thomas, Vincent, William, Warren, George and Geraldine Cudmore. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law Rita Stappen of Pembroke, MA and Cathy Cudmore of Marshfield, MA.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123)Brockton, MA Wednesday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Brockton at 10:30am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in Jean’s name may be made to NH SPCA, P.O.
