Patricia Ann (Maloney) Walsh, 85, of New Bedford and Naples, FL died October 9, 2011 after a brief illness.
Born in Philadelphia in 1926 she was the daughter of Charles and Anna Maloney. While being educated at Georgetown Visitation in Washington, DC, she met her future husband, Paul F. Walsh, and came to New Bedford to raise her family. "Patsy" was graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts. She taught school in New Bedford for decades. Patsy was a talented musician (violin and piano) and a consummate bridge player. She enjoyed winters in Naples, FL.
She was predeceased by her husband, her sister Marg, and brothers Charles, Martin, Andrew, and Austin. Patsy leaves one sister, Jane Stanton of New Jersey; four children, William and Paul, Jr. of New Bedford, Anne Folino (Greg) of Buzzards Bay, and Alice Kinkead of New Jersey. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with thirty five nieces and nephews.
The family is very grateful to the expert and generous care she received from everyone at Alden Court.
Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13th at 9 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Georgetown Visitation Fund, 35th Street NW Washington, DC 20007-2785.
