Mary Elizabeth Joyce, 102, Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Joyce was born in Ocilla, GA to the late John Marvin and Bessie Revell Jackson on October 27, 1908. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ezra Joyce. Mrs. Joyce was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial following in the Douglas City Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughter: Audrey Jean Sherrod, Douglas, GA; grandsons: Buster (Dot) Story, Lonnie Story and Berry Story all of Douglas, GA; granddaughter: Beverly (Randall) Garner, Douglas, GA; 8 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
