Helen R. Adams, 91

Helen R. (Donley) Adams, 91, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 9, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Clement J. Adams who died on August 4, 2005.
Born in North Attleboro, MA on June 6, 1920, she was a loving daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Dwyer) Donley.
Helen grew up in North Attleboro, was educated in North Attleboro public schools and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School.
A retired Managers Clerk, Mrs. Adams had worked for 28 years for the New England Telephone Co. and retired from the companies Taunton office in 1979. She was also a member of the telephone pioneers.
Helen had made her home in Norton for the past 48 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and was a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club at St. Mary’s Church.
Mrs. Adams, enjoyed knitting, rug making, gardening, playing bingo, and being in the company of family and friends. She and her late husband Clement were avid travelers.
She is survived by her devoted sons; John J. Adams of Santa Rosa, California and Laurence J. Adams and his wife Maria of Yorktown Heights, New York. The dear sister of the late Raymond Donley, Louis Donley and Kenneth Donley, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Maureen Powell and Linda Medeiros.
Her Funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday October 13th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 12th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flower’s, Helen’s family has requested that donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, care of, St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton, MA 02766.
